How Are You?

When somebody greets you
with a friendly, “How are you”?
Think about that question
from another point of view.

How are you spending time
God gives you every day?
How are you at knowing
you’re not wasting it away?

How are you showing others
in your heart you really care?
When they need a helping hand,
How are you at being there?

How are you at overcoming
life’s temptations filled with sin?
How are you at telling Satan
that he’s not invited in?

Each time we hear that greeting
may our conscience proudly shine,
so when we’re ask, “How are you ”
we can say, “I’m doing fine”.
