Because Of The Brave

America, the beautiful.
One nation under God.
A country where our fearless
fighting soldiers live and trod.

Men and women in uniform.
Proud, and brave, and strong,
keep our nation safe and free
from those who’d do us wrong.

Tyrants who would take away
the freedom we so love,
learn through their defeat
what our soldiers are made of.

Ready to fight, willing to die;
to defend, protect, and save.
America, land of the free.
Free… because of the brave.

The Thirteen Folds

Military honors are performed every day at the gravesites of our hero’s who have died. Rifles fire to the sky, then is heard a buglers cry, and our country’s flag is folded with much pride.   The flag that drapes a casket is handled with respect as it’s folded by...

Battlefields & Foxholes

Battlefields And Foxholes   Memorial Day, football, and my favorite easy chair. No better way to spend the day. Free from every care. My favorite team was playing. They hadn’t yet been beat. My faithful dog was curled up, and lying at my feet. The game was now in...

Found the poem “Because” of the brave on EllenBailey.com. In one verse, it lists the 5 military forces. Is this your poem or someone’s take-off. If it is your poem, how can I see its totality on your website? Thank you

I live this poem of yours and was wondering if I could have permission to copy it to embroider either a t-shirt or quilt for myself and a friend. We both served in the military. I was in for 14 years through Desert Storm & Desert Shield and she retired with 24 years, serving in desert storm, operation enduring freedom, and other deployments. We have been friends for many years and I think many should read your poem.

I would not sell it, and I would include your name as the author. Please let me know at your earliest convenience.
