God’s Smile

When born, we came out crying,

while others smiled wide.

The atmosphere was joyous.

Hearts were filled with pride.

Consider now the atmosphere

of feelings when we die.

We’ll be the one who’s smiling,

while friends and family cry.

And heaven too will smile

if we’ve lived life well and good.

So every day let’s, live the way

we know we really should.

Then, when our maker hugs us

in a “welcome back” embrace,

we will see a great big smile

planted firmly on His face.
