Just In Case

God, I know you don’t exist,

and neither does your son.

There is no life after life

when life on earth is done.

There wasn’t an atonement.

That’s just a fairy tale.

There is no place called heaven,

and what’s more, there is no hell.

Religion is all based on hope.

False hope, and one big lie.

l Eat, drink, and be merry,

for tomorrow we shall die.

But should I then awaken 

from death and see your face;

I ask that you forgive me lord,
