My Funeral

I attended my own funeral,

because God asked me to.

He wanted me to see the love

that came from each of you.

Many there showed sadness

and I wished that they could see

the beauty, peace and happiness

now surrounding me.

I walked about and felt the love

of all who gathered there.

Tender words of love for me

were spoken everywhere

There was a special moment,

when your tears began to flow.

I put my arms around you

though I knew you didn’t know.

I wait now in the splendor

of God’s heaven up above;

Grateful that He showed me

how truly I am loved.
